State Channels are companies built on the Hypergraph. They need to pay to pass any data through the Hypergraph by either market buying DAG per transaction or by paying Node Operators to transact their data for them. State Channels offer Node Operators Rewards from their own token or any other token they decide to reward with (possibly multiple token types). State Channels will want to ensure they are rewarding well to convince Node Operators to provide the service from their Node.

Using this method to pay for the Hypergraph allows companies to have a logical way to implement a cryptocurrency into their business structure. Without the need to worry about inflating unpredictable gas fees. The Hypergraph is also able to handle many transactions all at once, unlike blockchains that are easily bottlenecked.

If you have 250k dag, you just need to wait until further instructions are provided. As stated in the tokenomics, the whitelist has been dropped for node 2.0 and anyone with the requisite amount of dag will be able to run a node. Apart from the cost of running a vps, you don't need to "purchase" a node.

You can calculate the amount of rewards you could possible receive by running a DAG Validator Node using this spreadsheet created by Ekthelius the Accumulator. It is based on information we currently know about Nodes 1.0. It may not be completely accurate for Nodes 2.0 and does not take State Channels into account. But it should give you a good idea of how Nodes calculate rewards. You just need to input the amount of nodes running as a DAG Validator Node and the token price at the time. Remember, the token value will be much higher with the amount of Nodes that are purchased and Nodes 2.0 opens up State Channels that all have their own rewards pools that Node Operators can choose to be on. So not every Node would be collecting from the same reward pool.

Mientras avanzamos por el camino, sin estar seguros de una línea de tiempo, siempre es probable que la comunidad decida que la garantía 250K DAG para un canal estatal es demasiada, entonces, quizá se podría modificar.

La manera más fácil y que tiene más sentido (porque necesitas estar online la mayoría del tiempo para conseguir una puntuación PRO alta) es ejecutar un vps (virtual private server) en un proveedor como Digital Ocean, Vultr o AWS. El coste por esto es cerca de $40/mes/nodo. Es posible ejecutar múltiples nodos con uno (más potente) máquina virtual pero esta información no es oficial aún. La otra posibilidad es configurar un servidor con tu propio hardware/software. Necesitas un servidor con 4CPUs, 4GB de RAM y 160GB de espacio en disco.

Based on Wyatt's discussion in HyperGraph hour #23 (see YouTube), as long as your node isn't down for long period of time and/or frequently offline, there will be little to no issue when you need to update your server for each node. If, for example, you were to have frequent and multiple instances where the network noted your node down then you would possibly get a lower PRO score and or your node bounced off the network. Again, we need more details once we get near the Node 2.0 launch. THANK you for submitting a question!

Answered: How do state channels communicate/coordinate transactions between eachother over L_0? For example, let's say three state channels want to programmatically execute conditional actions between eachother involving input and output of data from both on chain and off chain sources. As we walk down the road, not sure of a timeline here, it is always possible to community decides that the 250K DAG collateral for a state channel is too lofty, then perhaps it could be altered? I believe we will have to await the initial HGTP launch before this topic will be explored significantly.

Hello and thanks so much for presenting a valid question related to DAG nodes! The 250K $DAG is collateral to be held in the designated node wallet (your wallet). You never risk loss of your collateral by allowing it to serve as node collateral on the network. I would say ultimately the biggest risk, for anyone using an online wallet even fiat based, is the persistent scammers attempting to gain access to your wallet. You can remove your node collateral at any time you so desire as it isn't LOCKED. Just remember that snapshots happen on each node wallet and if the balance drops below 250,000 quantity $DAG, you potentially lose your node (spot/network contribution) and certainly have affected your rewards and PRO score.

I last learned that the Constellation team were in the process of developing a tool to help with tax related node reward issues, in order to help make it more manageable. As to your initial question, yes the rewards drop often through out a 24 hour period. To settle your mind a bit, most times the daily average (cost basis) will suffice for tax reporting purposes versus a token by token value being tagged each minute. More on this to come!

Unable to find direct references from the core team today but based on commentary they have discussed creating an instance so that when a state channel makes a request via http it also makes a request via hgtp . It is impossible to answer precisely now. The maximum amount of nodes can be calculated by dividing the circulating supply by 250k. This results in a total of about 9500 nodes

This can not be answered precisely right now as it depends on many factors like the type of node you run, your PRO score (proof of reputable observation) which itself is affected by many factors such as uptime and most significantly it depends on the total number of nodes (as a fixed amount is split between all nodes). No! Most likely your wallet with the tokens will point to the node and you can withdraw your tokens at any time. If you hold less than 250k on the wallet assigned to your node at the time of the next snapshot you will not receive any rewards afterwards (snapshot happens every minute).

This is a great question!

The core team is actually working on getting an official answer in that at this time and will be releasing that information soon.

I can give my unofficial answer right now and then update the information here when the official answer is available.

Constellation's Hypergraph Network has a very low Carbon Footprint for many reasons.

1. Unlike Bitcoin the Hypergraph will have a set of rules to follow when it comes to being a Node Operator. On Bitcoin anyone can build a system and run a mining rig from home. Whereas Constellation recommends (and possibly will make mandatory) that all nodes be run from a VPS on DigitalOcean or Amazon Web Services (AWS). Both of these companies are trying to be as Green as possible.

2. The way $DAG is handled is much less intense then Bitcoin and the Hypergraph Network gets faster and more efficient as it gets busier.
